BARC Reading Program

The first and second graders at our school have the opportunity to participate in the BARC Reading Program this year. The program provides a time for students to read to a dog trained as a service dog.  This year, one of my student's has a dog that has been trained to be a reading dog.  Her mom, brings in her dog every three weeks to read with the students in my classroom.  The kids absolutely love reading to Sully and have his undivided attention while they read to him.  It is a great time for the students to bond with him, especially those who do not have any animals at home.
